RENÉ BARBIER CHARDONNAY

Made entirely from Chardonnay grapes grown in three specific, north facing vineyards, with ideal soil and climate conditions for the cultivation of this varietal. destined for fermentation and short maturation on its lees, in new American oak casks. The dates of harvesting are carefully monitored to ensure a perfect balance of fruit, alcohol, and acidity.

It is bright golden yellow color with lemonish edges,  and is complex on the nose, showing tones of vanilla and smoke overlaying the fruit. The palate is supple, round and full with good fruit and oak balance, and a fine long finish.

 

 

RENÉ BARBIER CABERNET SAUVIGNON

This wine is considered as one of the best Cabernet Sauvignon varietals produced in Spain, for its pureness of strain and great character. It has a ruby, cherry color, with a very positive flavor of cassis and vanilla, which are long and positive in the palate, and silky in finish. Following nine months of new oak maturation, the wine is held in bottle for three full years before release to ensure a balanced, fine wine.

 

 

RENÉ BARBIER RESERVA

The rich complex berry and vanilla fruits in this wine are partly a result of 14 months oak aging before bottling, and a minimum of two years bottle age before release. It has a ruby red color with terracotta edges, and is full and firm on the palate with flavors of autumn fruits. It has a long delicate, distinguished finish.

 

 

RENÉ BARBIER TINTO

Produced principally from Tempranillo at 60%, balanced by 30% Garnache and 10% Monastrell. This is a rounded ruby colored wine, with a soft cherry and raspberry palate, set off by a gentle vanilla complexity coming from its six months cask maturation.

 

 

RENÉ BARBIER ROSADO

This wine has been for years an ambassador for the Penedes region, with its delicious pink, strawberry and red currant color, fine fruity aroma and pleasing complexity. It is soft and fresh in the palate, full of summer fruits and has a long, warm summer evening finish. The blend is 45% Garnache, 35% Tempranillo, and 20% Monastrell, and the wine is bottled as early as possible in the spring following the harvest, for summer enjoyment.

 

 

 

RENÉ BARBIER BLANCO SECO Y BLANCO SEMISECO

White Dry is the archetypal dry white Penedes wine, made from 40% Xarel-lo and the balance divided equally between Macabeo and Parellada. It is bright lemon yellow in color, light, fruity and very lively on the nose, with a crisp, clean, fruity satisfying palate.

In White Semidry, the element of Xarel-lo is reduced in blend, and the resulting wine is softer and sweeter, and has a rather more golden color. It has a soft finish, with a sweetness that is gentle and not cloying.
